Invasive Plant Paper

Invasive phragmites, perennial grasses, will be the focus for this workshop. Learn the papermaking process from the plant stage to finished paper. You will prepare phragmite fibers working through all steps—cooking, rinsing, and beating fibers into pulp—and, finally, pulling sheets of paper. You will also be have an opportunity to explore other fiber combinations.
