Field and Garden Papermaking

Wednesday September 28, 2022   Field and Garden Papermaking 9:30-12:30

Iris leaves or ornamental grasses culled from the garden and cornhusk gathered from the field will be prepared for making paper. Local plant fibers may include gladiola or daffodil leaves.  We will work through all the steps—cooking, rinsing, and beating fibers into pulp—and, finally, pulling sheets of paper. This is an opportunity to experiment. Consider a variety of fiber combinations when you make a sheet of paper from field and garden plants. This paper holds the Vineyard.
