Warning: this printing process is highly addictive! Using a gelli-plate—you will layer opaque and transparent color, play with textures and stenciled patterns, and print without a press using unusual tools to create beautiful one-of-a-kind monotypes. You will have a chance to experiment making monotypes—drawn or painted on a plate—onto a variety of papers: textured, smooth, waxed, and colored. You will discover what you can do with a brayer to create patterns. And you will undoubtedly fall in love with your cleaning paper! Monotypes are inherently unique because only one or two impressions may be pulled before the paint is used up. The papers you create can be framed or cut up for collage, cards, or book making.
