Gel Plate Monotypes

Friday October 18, 2019   Gel Plate Monotypes 9:30-12:30
Warning: this printing process is highly addictive! Using a gelli plate—you will layer opaque and transparent colors, play with textures, stenciled patterns and masks, and print without a press using unusual tools to create beautiful one-of-a-kind monotypes. You will create your own tools and cut your own stencil to take home. You will have a chance to experiment making your monotypes onto a variety of papers: textured, smooth, waxed, and colored. You will discover what you can do with a brayer to create patterns. And you will undoubtedly fall in love with your cleaning paper! Monotypes are inherently unique because only one or two impressions can be pulled before the paint is used up. Once you start printing, you won't be able to stop.
