< back
Friday September 22, 2017   Autumn Plant Fibers 9:00-12:00
On this first day of autumn, we will celebrate by preparing locally grown fibers for papermaking. Local fibers which include bast, leaf, and grass fiber plants will be prepared, cooked, and beaten for sheet forming. These plants may include cattail, gladiola, cornhusk, phragmites, and ornamental grasses. This is an opportunity to experiment. You will learn to pull sheets of paper and explore interesting fiber combinations.
