Friday July 01, 2022   High Shrinkage Sculptural Papermaking 9:00-12:30

Learn to work with the unique properties of highly beaten abaca or flax fibers which will shrink to create strong sculptural vessels. You will learn to pull and couch wet sheets of pulp and drape them over interesting and exotic shapes and armatures that you have created or found. You will experiment with fiber manipulation as you roll, pinch, fold, and poke wet fiber to achieve dramatic effects as the fiber dries. Previous papermaking experience is not necessary.
